Is This A Way-Too-Early-To-Tell Album Of the Year Contender?

Lil Yachty dropped a psychedelic alternative project? You didn’t read that wrong, Lil Boat released his fifth studio album titled “Let’s Start Here.” and it is far from what you would expect from the rap/hip-hop artist. This nearly hour long project is, dare I say, a modern day The Dark Side of the Moon? I might be crazy for even comparing the two but you can’t listen to this album and not hear the obvious inspiration it takes from classic rock, psychedelic funk, and synth pop. The closing track “REACH THE SUNSHINE.”, which I highlighted in this post, is my favorite if I had to choose, but don’t sleep on “running out of time”, “the BLACK seminole”, or “The Alchemist”. With that being said, these songs are meant to be played in order as they all have elements that flow together, so if you have the time and an open mind give this whole album a listen and see for yourself why it might just be a way-too-early-to-tell album of the year contender.
