I’m not caught up on the drama surrounding this mixtape, but the surprise release is a response to Kendrick Lamar’s criticism of J. Cole. This collection certainly got mixed reviews, but I found myself liking several of the tracks, notably this one. It might not be the best music he’s ever released, but his flow and lyrics should never be taken for granted.
