A Marriage of Electronic Music and Orchestral Elements

It’s really a treat to find a project by an unknown producer who no doubt will be a household name. It’s a matter of when, not if. Live and Surrounded by Friends at Melusina, Luxembourg, 2023 is a marriage of electronic music and orchestral elements, delivered LIVE by the up and coming Belgian producer Mathieu Moës. This full-length album, resonates with deep house rhythms, melodic flourishes, and ambient textures that evoke an intimate, immersive atmosphere. How you like them adjectives? Recorded in the heart of Luxembourg's revered nightlife destination, Melusina, on May 20, 2023, the album is an eletronic-breath-of-fresh-air.

Inspired by his love for cinema and the likes of Nolan-Zimmer collaborations, there’s an epic quality to his songs. My favorite track is “Sunset Strip Decadence”, and yes, the name says it all. Deep and cinematic house matched with almost Madonna like vocals, is both entrancing and motivating. Just try not to bob your head.

Another absolute bop, “Lux-Ville”. The cheering in the background is well deserved.

Moës is not only a talented producer, but he is also a gifted performer. I checked out his set on Youtube and it’s really fun (I wish I went). His live show is full of energy and passion, and he clearly loves what he does. The album captures this energy perfectly, and it is sure to transport listeners to the Melusina nightclub in Luxembourg.

Whether looking for beats while studying or a sonic cocoon to unwind, this album delivers. I also highly recommend checking out his other non-live tracks for some seriously quality sounds.
