An audio visual journey through the after-hours realm.
Prepare for a mind-bending audiovisual experience – "Monochrome Midnight Traveller: Reality Spaces EP." Equal parts soothing and mysterious, these Shanghai-based producers have cooked up something truly unique. This two-song EP blends ambient and downtempo genres into a minimalist soundscape that's perfect for late-night listening.
Typically we’d share the Spotify or Soundcloud version of the track for your listening pleasure, but the visual side of these tracks is half the experience. I’ve (obviously) never walked the nighttime streets of Shanghai, but this might be closest way to experience it (without the 20 hour flight). They take black and white imagery and blend it with monochromatic synth elements. It’s an audio visual journey through the after hours realm.
The first track, "Spaces," has a catchy, steady sub bass and an eerie overall vibe.
The second track, "Reality," is even darker. It weaves together elements of trip-hop and dubstep without overwhelming the listener. It's a tune that's perfectly suited for late-night drives or solitary wanderings through whatever city or town you currently find yourself.
Overall, it's a unique and refreshing take on electronic music, and it's perfect for those who are looking for something to listen to late at night. If you're a fan of ambient, breakbeat, or downtempo music, then I highly recommend.
If you’re like me and value being the first to know, I highly recommend following these up and coming producers. Check them out on Spotify here.
